Everyday Uses of Kangen Water: Settings and Safety

Choose the water setting before the task
An Enagic water ioniser can provide different outputs for different purposes. The available settings depend on the model, and actual pH depends on the source water and operating conditions. Use the manual supplied for your model and market. The display setting is not a substitute for checking the water or following the operating instructions.
Drinking water and cooking
Enagic describes alkaline Kangen Water as a drinking and cooking output, and Clean Water as a neutral filtered output. Begin with a suitable potable water supply and follow the machine's instructions. pH, ORP and dissolved hydrogen describe different water properties; a demonstration of one property does not establish a medical benefit. This guide does not claim that the water treats or prevents disease.
Strong Kangen Water: not a drink or recipe ingredient
Strong Kangen Water is a non-drinking output intended for specified food-preparation and cleaning tasks. Do not add pH 11.5 water to salad dressing, drinks or other recipes for consumption. Our previous suggestion to add a tablespoon to dressing has been removed. Only use food-preparation procedures expressly supported by the applicable manual; do not invent soaking times or assume that washing eliminates pesticides or pathogens.
Strong Acidic Water: keep cleaning and disinfection claims separate
Strong Acidic Water is also a non-drinking output. Follow the model's approved production and use instructions, including any required enhancer. A low pH reading alone does not verify disinfectant concentration, contact time or effectiveness against a particular organism. This site does not establish a '99% on contact' or 'hospital-grade' disinfection claim for your household output. Do not use this article as instructions for treating wounds, fungal infections, acne or other medical conditions, or as a substitute for established hand hygiene and food-safety practices.
Beauty Water and external use
Enagic distinguishes slightly acidic Beauty Water from Strong Acidic Water and Strong Kangen Water. Use only the external applications specified for your model. Do not infer that all acidic or alkaline settings are interchangeable, safe for sensitive skin or suitable for children and pets. Stop an external-use routine if irritation occurs and seek appropriate professional advice.
Infant formula and medication
Do not prepare infant formula with alkaline Kangen Water. Neutral pH and filtration alone do not establish microbiological safety. Follow the formula manufacturer's instructions and current public-health guidance for the water used, preparation temperature, equipment hygiene, storage and feeding. Consult your paediatrician when unsure. For medicines, follow the medicine label and your pharmacist's advice; Enagic's FAQ directs users to the neutral Clean Water setting.
Collection, labels and storage
Keep drinking and non-drinking water in clearly labelled, suitable containers. Avoid storing cleaning water in bottles that could be mistaken for drinks. Follow the current manufacturer instructions for collection, storage and replacement. Never assume stored output retains the same properties indefinitely.
