Alkaline Water vs Electrolysed Water: What the Terms Mean

“Alkaline” describes a pH above 7. It does not explain how the water reached that pH, what else is dissolved in it, or what effect it has in the body. Buyers should compare the process and the final water properties separately.
Three terms that are often mixed together
Naturally alkaline water has a pH above 7 because of minerals and conditions at its source.
Mineral-adjusted water may have a higher pH because minerals or alkaline media are added or dissolved into the water.
Electrolysed water is produced when an ioniser uses electrical current to separate water into different output streams.
“Alkalized” is a common marketing term rather than a separate clinical category. The measurable questions are the final pH, dissolved substances, hydrogen concentration where relevant, and whether the output is intended for drinking.
pH, hydrogen and ORP measure different things
pH measures acidity or alkalinity.
Dissolved hydrogen is a concentration that requires an appropriate measurement method.
ORP describes oxidation-reduction conditions and can change with the water, temperature, dissolved substances and time.
A negative ORP reading does not by itself prove a specific amount of hydrogen, better absorption or a health benefit. Likewise, a higher pH does not mean “more healthy.” These measurements should be interpreted within the machine manual and the intended water setting.
What electrolysis changes
A LeveLuk ioniser first filters the incoming water and then applies electrolysis to produce different outlets. Model design, electrode configuration, flow and source-water chemistry can affect output. Compare the exact model rather than assuming every ioniser produces the same result.
What electrolysis does not establish
It does not prove that drinking water changes the body’s blood pH.

It does not turn ORP, pH or a demonstration into evidence of a medical outcome.
It does not replace source-water testing, correct installation or regular maintenance.
Questions to ask before buying in Malaysia
What source water will enter the machine, and what filtration is needed?
Which outputs are for drinking, and which are non-drinking?
What are the current filter, cleaning and servicing requirements?
Can the seller explain model differences without relying on unexplained health claims?
Are current prices, warranty terms, installation needs and local support written down?
